Praised for his “lean, polished tenor” by Opera Magazine, British-Irish tenor Jay Broadhurst is rapidly beginning to make his mark on the UK opera scene. Under the guidance of Mark Wildman at the Royal Northern College of Music, he is a recent recipient of the prestigious Frederic Cox Award for Singing and the Sir David Maddison Opera Prize.

This season, Jay made acclaimed debuts at both Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall with performances of Schumann’s Dichterliebe, earning praise for his “lyrical subtlety”.
Jay is a former Garsington Opera Alvarez Young Artist and is proud to be generously supported by Musician’s Company as Salaman Seelig Award Winner and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation for his current year of study. Away from the stage, he is a loyal supporter of Manchester United.
